Portable PF number from October 16
The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) will launch its project to provide universal PF account numbers (UAN) to its subscribers on 16 October. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to launch UAN on this date, according to a plan chalked out by the Labour Ministry. This universal number will be portable throughout a member's working career.
